General
Who is it made for?
Anyone that has a computer (or borrowing one). Seriously speaking anyone can use this tool! You don't need to be a computer nerd or a poker professional. There are presets for the beginners and advanced setup options for the professionals.
What are the advantages?
What limit is it designed for?
You can use PartyTool at No- and fixed-limit tables, but the advisor and bot mode are designed to be used with fixed-limit Texas Hold'em. When it comes to the stakes the real money presets works best at low limits, and then it's up to you to create the hi-limit profiles.
Is it cheating?
Firstly, PartyPoker has not forbidden the use of PartyTool. PartyTool is NOT in their "Forbidden Programs Category". It's not cheating to use a poker calculator. A quotation from PartyPoker's "Unfair Advantage Policy":
"Does PartyGaming forbid/discourage all online programs? No, definitely not. Our own website provides programs for playing online. Programs that give a player an advantage over others are not something we wish to forbid."
Unfortunately bots are not allowed so as long as you don't activate the auto play functions or bot mode, you haven't done anything wrong. It's up to you - Either you click fold, call, raise etc. or you let Party Tool click for you, in each way you are the only one who can tell whether you're using a bot or not.
Program Functions
How does the advisor work?
The advisor in preflop is completely rule-based. This is much better than to calculate all possible outcomes in the postflop, since that would be a major time consumer. You can adjust the preflop rules based on your cards, position and the action before you.
Besides the preflop engine, the postflop advisor relies completely on artificial intelligence. It is always changing and adapting to the opponents. It uses a self-adapting opponent modeler which is used to weight the cards in the evaluation process. This is unique, the mass of poker calculators around rely on preset rule-based actions.
PartyTool calculates your hand odds (win chance) based on your cards, your opponents' betting patterns, your position and number of opponents. Then the advisor shows you a decision based on your hand odds compared to your pot odds.
You can adjust the postflop engine with the amount of respect and win chance thresholds.
What is EV?
EV - Expected Value, is the average profit if you continue to showdown, measured in big blinds. In other words, this is how much you should win/loose if you continue playing. It's a measure of how good your win chance is compared to the implied pot size and amount to call. For example; you have a good flush draw in Turn, let's say 19% win chance. Someone bets 1 BB and the implied pot size is 9 BB, then your EV = 20% of 9 - 1 = +0.8 BB. This means you definately should go for the showdown, since the result was positive.
You can also use the EV to estimate how much you can bet/raise in no-limit. If you do not intend to bluff, you should never bet or raise more than amount to call + EV. For example; you have trips in Flop, the EV shows: 5BB and someone bets 2 BB. Now you know that you should not bet more than 2 BB + 5 BB = 7 BB.
Of course the EV is only an estimation and its accuracy depends on your opponents and the PartyTool settings. And even if the EV is accurate, the best move is not necessarily to follow its advice. Remember that bluffing is the most important part of Texas Hold'em.
How to setup hotkeys?
Specify each action to a keyboard key. The specified hotkeys are bound by your system so be aware you cannot use these keys in any other application. Once hotkeys is enabled, you can only use the keys for playing poker.
How to setup preflop?
The Preflop is rule based, which means you manually set up all playable cases based on your pocket cards, position and the table action before you.
The first step is to create a hand group. Do this by clicking on the pocket cards you want to pick to your hand group.
Second step is to create a behavior for your hand group. Choose either fold, call or raise from the squares in the middle. Each square responds to the given position and table action.
Click "Save to profile" and your preflop rules are saved into your current profile.
How to setup postflop?
The postflop is based on calculations. The most important parameter in the calculations is the Respect level. The Respect level control the core of the decision engine and the expected value calculations. A high level of respect (dragging the trackbar position to the right) gives more respect for your opponents, and therefore generally a decrease in the estimations of your win chance.
You can adjust the respect level for each betting round, and to make a good adjustment of the respect levels: (Bypass Thresholds when adjusting the respect levels!)
Drag the lever to the right when you think the advisor is too loose.
And drag the lever to the left when you think the advisor is too tight
No Limit Betting makes it possible to adjust the bet and raise amounts at No-limit tables. If you increase the levels you get bigger bets and raises - a more aggressive game play. Uncheck No-limit betting if you want to disable this option.
The Thresholds are the last step of your postflop setup and only affect the advisor and the bot mode. Thresholds can be used to make PartyTool more or less tight and aggressive. But the main function is to filter bad results, caused by a possible misconfigured or inaccurate respect levels. The lower win chance is, the more we must rely on very precise calculations. For example, you have 5% win chance in the Flop, and the advisor says call (EV is + cause of a very big pot). Not even the professional poker player would call that pot (if he wasn't going to bluff). The reason is; noone nor any computer can estimate the chance to win more accurate than + - 5%. So in the previous example he could have had 1 or 2% chance to win, which wouldn't have satisfied pot odds.
How to manage profiles?
The profiles contains your saved Preflop and Postflop settings. Under the Settings tab you choose your profile. Here you also can rename, copy, reset one or reset all the profiles.
To rename a profile, simply click on it and write your new profile name.
To copy the whole current profile to another, click "Copy to" and select the profile you want the current one to be copied to.
What is "Automatic Play in Preflop"?
You can make PartyTool autoplay your preflop hands. Default is Fold checked, so PartyTool will fold if the advisor shows fold. If you check all actions, fold, call, bet etc. then PartyTool will always play your preflop, and let your play the PostFlop.
This function is very useful, especially if you enable "Play a sound when it's your turn to act". Then PartyTool will play a ringing sound when it's your turn. Relax when PartyTool is doing the "boring" job for you, and once you have a good hand enjoy playing poker like you should!
What is Bot mode?
When this mode is enabled, PartyTool will play all hands by itself, according to the advisor. This mode works best in Fixed Limit as PartyTool cannot bet or raise more than default. Alter random click time delay if you don't want other users to suspect you are a "bot", the time is measured in milliseconds.
Issues
It won't fetch the cards
PartyTool is scraping your tables which means it gets information through screenshots.
